STUDENTS’ MOTIVATION IN LEARNING SPEAKING IN SMAN IN MALANG

Currently, the information spreads rapidly because of the globalization. Therefore learning English as a foreign language becomes popular way to study a science and technology, because the fact shows that most of the scientific books or information are written in English. So the students should have the ability to comprehend the contents of that information by learning English. They should be very familiar with English if
they do not want to be left behind with the information because it is very needed for their future career.

English is a part of the global era. It seems that for some people, without English, life will be unsatisfied. Therefore, they claim that English is important to be taught to the students since they are still in the elementary school in order to make them familiar with it. English is not only important for the students in academic field, but it is also important as a means of communication in the international affairs, such as business, politic, and technology.

In its role as a global language, English has become one of the most important academic and professional tools. The English language is recognized as undoubtedly the most important language for the increasingly mobile international community to learn. This is a fact that seems to be irreversible. English has become the official language of the business and scientific worlds. All over the world use the international language to
communicate with other easily and unite them. As the development country, Indonesia should follow the improvement of the world, so the Indonesian will not be left behind.
